Project Challenges & Solutions

The Aesthetic Challenge: The "Invisible" Requirement

For a luxury rooftop setting, traditional grates can often feel industrial and disruptive to the design. The solution was the use of Stormtech Tile Insert linear drains. By allowing the pool’s stone tiles to be laid directly into the drain channel, the system becomes virtually invisible. Only a slim 2.5mm-wide slot on either side remains visible, ensuring the rooftop’s sophisticated finish remains the focal point while effectively managing splash-out and rainwater.

The Corrosion Challenge: Rooftop Pool Integration

Chlorine pools, even in open air environments can create corrosive conditions for many metals, and can stimulate tea-staining of stainless steel grates and channels. The combination of highly durable 316 marine grade stainless steel and electropolishing provides the necessary corrosion resistance for long-term functionality and environmental resilience.
