Stormtech shower screen support drainage elevates the luxurious bathrooms of one of Sydney's most famous apartment buildings
The Sirius building in Sydney underwent a significant adaptive reuse project, which presented unique challenges for the internal fit-out, particularly in the design of modern, luxurious bathrooms. The original structure dictated the fixed locations of the existing floor wastes, making the conventional placement of new shower areas difficult without extensive and costly re-plumbing and structural changes.
To overcome the constraint of immovable floor waste positions, the project team—consisting of BVN Architects and Richard Crookes Constructions—opted for a custom-made Stormtech Shower Screen Support drainage solution.
This innovative, bespoke approach involved integrating a linear drainage channel directly into the support structure of the shower screen. This custom design effectively managed water flow and collection, allowing the new shower enclosures to be positioned optimally within the refurbished apartments without the necessity of relocating the existing floor wastes.
The use of the custom Stormtech solution was a critical element in achieving a sophisticated internal finish while respecting the constraints of the adaptive reuse project.
